1. EcoPrefab Classroom Blocks

Classrooms are rectangular and have a net internal floor area of 48m², a full-height blackboard and built-in storage  at the back. There is a 18m² covered walkway in front and two outward-opening doors for easy egress in the event of emergencies.

2. EcoPrefab Teacher Housing

Each of the units has a private veranda doubling up as an outdoor cooking area. Depending on the type, there are one or two bedrooms per unit as well as an indoor washroom and a kitchen/store.

Administration Block

3. EcoPrefab Administration Block, Kitchen and Toilet

The admin block has a waiting area in front of two offices for head teacher and administrator, staff room, sick bay and store. The school kitchen has a covered external cooking area, servery and two enclosed stores. The toilet has three stands for boys and girls respectively, a changing room for girls, a unisex PWD cubicle and a unisex teacher toilet.

What we need from you at the start:

> Boundary and topographic survey of your site; siteplan indicating existing infrastructure in case your school already exists;

> List of building requirements, ideally based on a longer-term projection of your school’s growth;

> Proof of ownership of land (for planning approvals).

 

Statutory approvals:

> We shall prepare and stamp drawings and documents required for the planning submission; as the developer, you will submit, pay the planning fees and follow up until the plans have been approved;

> NEMA might require an Environmental and Social Impact Assessment; if not already in place, this needs to be sourced and added to the above timelines.
