About

I'm Ben and I'm a developer. Well, kind of. I moved into management and now I code less for work but entirely on my own personal projects. I'm super into programming languages, design patterns and software architecture! I am a compulsive learner and GitHub is my personal graveyard of abandoned projects. I have migrated almost completely to GitLab from GitHub so I wouldn't expect to see much activity on here.

I'm married to my amazing husband and have a super sweet rescue pup named Sardine (Sardy).

Work Tech

My current work stack is pretty fun because I get to touch everything from the cloud to the edge device. I'm not going to include all of them because I think the list is big already. At my core, I would say I'm a NodeJS developer and can say I've gotten to actually use some of the advanced features of the language in production settings. I work in the robotic material handling space and get to play with industrial robots, computer vision and AI.

Personal Tech

I pretty much have started writing all of my personal projects in either Zig. Given that, I continously am learning new tech. My current side project is writing a from scratch distributed message broker in Zig. If you want to talk about this with me, just send me a DM.

Current project

I've spent the last 2.5 years working on a distributed message broker written in Zig. It isn't ready for production yet but it showing a lot of promise. I hope you follow along and give it some support when I do eventually launch it. It is called Kobolds (link doesn't work yet silly). Please feel free to support/contribute to the supporting projects which are fully open source.
