Germany Joins Publication Platform Open Research Europe

Research and funding organisations from eleven European countries are assuming joint responsibility for the open-access platform Open Research Europe (ORE). In future, ORE will be open to researchers at all German research institutions.

In December 2025, the DFG Joint Committee decided to allow the future use of AI systems in the review process. Detailed framework conditions have now been published in the form of a guideline.

On 3 March, the three organisations presented a new funding instrument called ‘Nexus’ in Brussels. In it, they propose strengthening the connection between hubs of research excellence within the European Research Area, thereby intensifying institutionalised cooperation between Europe’s leading universities and research institutions.
