🔒 SSL/TLS certificates are moving to 200-day validity (from March 15, 2026).
The CA/Browser Forum (the body that defines SSL/TLS rules for all CAs and browsers) approved a roadmap to shorten how long certificates are valid.

Timeline
• Until March 15, 2026 → max validity ≈ 398 days (today’s standard)
• From March 15, 2026 → max validity → ~200 days
• March 2027 → 100 days
• March 2029 → 47 days

💵Does this mean you would need to pay more?
No.

•Free CAs (like Let’s Encrypt) remain free.
•Paid CAs still sell subscriptions.
•The pricing model usually stays subscription-based, not per certificate issuance.
•The change only affects how often you reissue, not whether you must pay.

✅ Best move: automate renewals with ACME (cPanel, Plesk, Kubernetes/cert-manager, etc.) to avoid expired certs and downtime.
