From risk prevention to resilience of submarine cables: security coming to the surface

This conference will gather a broad range of stakeholders on submarine cable infrastructures, including public authorities, industry, academia, telecoms operators and digital service providers.

  • Recent EU policy developments in the context of the EU Cable Security Action Plan, in particular prevention of security risks to submarine cable infrastructures, as put forward in the EU Risk Assessment and the Cable Security Toolbox (including a priority list for Cable Projects of European Interest-CPEIs).
  • National, international and industry approaches to security and resilience of submarine cable infrastructures.
  • Resilience of submarine cable infrastructures, opportunities and investment needs. EU funding and the staged approach to the list of CPEI priority areas, in particular in relation with the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) Digital and future funding opportunities.
  • Priorities for future cooperation on prevention of security risks and increased resilience of submarine cable infrastructures. Next steps for cooperation at EU level and beyond.
