The behaviour you're describing sounds like different "Remember me" settings - the first one had the "Remember me" setting enabled, while the second did not. I don't remember KC 15 behaving differently in this sense - if you log in without enabling "Remember me", the KC session only lasts until the browser is closed (which should have been the case with 15 as well). However, if it's something different, could you please detail what you meant by going to the login page? From your description it seems like you are going directly to a login page (instead of, for example, the account console, which redirects you to the login page for authentication), which shouldn't happen, but even if it did, Keycloak should show a message that the flow has expired and it needs to be restarted. |

Hi, @darius-m Thank you for replying. Yes, you are right - login keycloak page is triggered by frontend app. So first I go to frontend app page which redirects me to KC login page to enter login/password. Then I end up in my user account. After I close the browser or refresh page I expect to be redirected to my user account without redirecting to frontend app and login page, but it fails and I see login page again. I need to same behaviour as 15 KC but have no idea how to do it and if it's possible with KC26. |

If you need to keep the Keycloak session across browser restarts, you will need to enable the "Remember me" setting - https://www.keycloak.org/docs/latest/server_admin/index.html#enabling-remember-me, and then make sure the checkbox is selected on the login page. However, as far I remember, the functionality should have been the same in Keycloak 15, so I'm not sure why you're seeing different behavior. |

@darius-m I did as described in manual and that's weird as I was logged off even from KC UI, i.e. I logeed in in admin UI, refreshed page and was redirected to login page istead of stay logged. Even with Remember me enabled in realm settings and on login page. I find this behaviour weird as we have tried a lot of ways described in internet and chatGPT to solve this. Can it be a bug to be reported to KC team? |

I don't recall seeing the issue you are describing, at least not recently. Please give some more details about your deployment - is it a standalone service, are you using cross-site replication, how is the database set up. It sounds like it can be a cookie issue (check the developer tools of your browser - I think Keycloak 15 still had the You can, of course, open an issue on the matter if it is a bug, but the current details are not enough to reproduce the environment. |

@darius-m problem has been solved. The issue was - after migrating KC15 DB (update to 26KC and connecting to KC) some settings in custom browser flow were found to be incorrectly set. Now everything works as expected. Thank you for you participation in discussion! |

We are migrating from 15 to 26. DB with all setting was successfully migrtaed and updated, KC started.
KC15 behaviour: logged in and close the browser without proper logout -> re-open browser and go to login page -> redirect to user account.
KC26 behaviour: logged in and close the browser without proper logout -> re-open browser and go to login page -> asks for login + password and a) if creds differ from previous user creds shows warning "You are already authentificated ... Pls log out first" and b) if creds are the same as previous user -> redirect to user account.
My question: is it possible to get the same behaviour as 15KC? If yes - pls walk me through. If not pls refer to corresponding KC guide.
