We’re taking the Aspen Principles for Remittances on the road! I’m looking forward to presenting this work at Beyond the Frontiers 2026 at American University, bringing the conversation on remittances to new audiences working at the intersection of finance, policy, and philanthropy. Remittances are more than financial transfers. They are a powerful engine for financial inclusion, economic mobility, and cross-border prosperity. The Aspen Principles aim to advance a more transparent, people-centered ecosystem that expands financial access, empowers consumers, and strengthens remittance systems across borders. As conversations around capital flows and inclusive growth evolve, remittances remain one of the most important bridges connecting families, communities, and economies across the Americas. 👁️Proteger a menores en internet… sin vigilar a todos 🫣. Las nuevas leyes de age-verification online buscan evitar que menores accedan a ciertos contenidos o plataformas. Pero hay un problema estructural: Para verificar la edad de los menores… primero hay que verificar la edad de todos los usuarios. Eso está llevando a que muchas plataformas pidan: 📷 selfies o escaneo facial 🪪 identificación oficial 🤖 análisis biométrico con IA El resultado: herramientas diseñadas para proteger a menores terminan recopilando datos de millones de adultos. La pregunta clave no es si debemos proteger a los menores. Eso es indiscutible. La pregunta es cómo hacerlo sin crear infraestructura de vigilancia masiva. 👀 La respuesta probablemente está en mejor arquitectura de identidad digital: 🔐 credenciales verificables 🔎 información selectiva (solo demostrar “mayor de edad”) 🧮 pruebas de conocimiento cero 📱 wallets de identidad reutilizables En otras palabras: demostrar atributos, no revelar toda la identidad. 💭 Sapere Aude: La discusión sobre verificación de edad en internet es, en realidad, una discusión sobre cómo diseñar identidad digital que proteja privacidad y seguridad al mismo tiempo.
