The security layer for AI agents

Civic makes it safer to move fast and not break things

Set up in minutes

Get your credentials from Civic, set 2 environment variables, and start building.

Step 1

Create your profile in Civic

Sign in at app.civic.com, create a toolkit, and add the MCP servers you want your agent to access. Use the configuration agent to add guardrails to each tool. Be as specific as you need. Civic generates your NEXUS_URL and NEXUS_TOKEN, both ready to paste.

Open Civic
Step 2

Choose your agent

Which AI agent will you use with Civic? We support any MCP Client, and we're constantly adding more guides for new clients.

Step 3

Configure and run

Add NEXUS_URL as the MCP server URL in your agent's settings. For clients that support OAuth, Civic will prompt you to authorize in the browser. No token needed. For others, set NEXUS_TOKEN as the bearer token.

Never commit NEXUS_TOKEN to source control or paste it into the agent chat directly.

Then ask your agent to list its tools to confirm Civic is connected.
